Headquartered in University Park, Florida, Benderson Development is one of the U.S.’s largest privately held real estate companies. The Company owns and manages more than 700 properties. These properties cover greater than 40 million square feet in 38 states. Benderson Development also has a regional office in Buffalo, New York.

Pertaining to its Office/Industrial portfolio, its properties include One Canalside, Buffalo, New York; The Sarasota-Bradenton Commerce Center – Sarasota, Florida; Broadway Development Park, Cheektowaga, New York; and the Wells Fargo Advisors Building – Sarasota, Florida.

The Company has its Buffalo Lodging Associates in the Hotel industry. Buffalo Lodging Associates’ focus is on delivering premier guest experiences in partnership with the hospitality industry’s most respected hotel brands. It is a fully integrated hotel development and management company. Buffalo Lodging Associates provides an array of services. These include operations management, sales, marketing, accounting, development, architecture, and construction.

Regarding its Residential business, Benderson Development has its King’s Gate division. King’s Gate offers sales and leasing of furnished and unfurnished homes and villas, as well as customized home building. Kings Gate is the state of Florida’s active resort lifestyle community.

In October of 2015, The Mall at University Town Center (UTC) in Sarasota, Florida, had two milestones to celebrate. One was its one year anniversary on October 16, 2015 and the other was receiving recognition as the “Best Retail Development, Florida” by the International Property Awards. Judging for the International Property Awards was conducted by a panel of over 70 experts from all over the world. It was chaired by two members of the House of Lords: Lord Caithness and Lord Best.

UTC is owned and managed by Taubman in partnership with Benderson Development.  UTC features roughly 860,000 square feet of retail space with Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Dillard’s and over 100 specialty stores and restaurants.

On September 3, 2015, Nordstrom Rack opened its ninth Rack store in New York at the Benderson Development-owned Boulevard Consumer Square shopping center in Amherst. The 35,000-square-foot store joined a mix of retail and lifestyle tenants. These include Target, Lowe’s, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Barnes & Noble and Trader Joe’s, among others. Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc.
