The WhiteWave Foods Company Has Big-Name Brands on Supermarket Shelves

The WhiteWave Foods Company is a top consumer packaged food and beverage company with its corporate headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado. The Company sells products principally in North America, Europe, and by way of a joint venture (JV) in China. They also include International Delight® and LAND O LAKES®* coffee creamers and beverages, Horizon Organic® and Wallaby Organic® premium dairy products, as well as Earthbound Farm® organic salads, fruits, and vegetables.

The Company’s plant-based foods and beverages brands in Europe include Alpro® and Provamel®. Its Americas Foods & Beverages segment consists of four platforms. These are Plant-based Foods and Beverages, Fresh Foods, Premium Dairy, as well as Coffee Creamers and Beverages. Its Fresh Foods platform comprises the Earthbound Farm® brand, which includes organic salads, fruits, and vegetables.

Earlier this month, The WhiteWave Foods Company’s International Delight Simply Pure® announced the launch of a new flavor, named Sweet & Creamy, as an extension of its successful coffee creamer line introduced early in 2016. Moreover, the brand will launch a quart size because of increased consumer demand for a larger bottle.

International Delight Simply Pure® is a clean label coffee creamer made with only five simple ingredients. This product is made with real milk, cream, and cane sugar. It contains no artificial flavors, colors, or high-fructose corn syrup. Simply Pure comes in Vanilla, Caramel, and a new Sweet and Creamy flavor.

For Q3 2016, WhiteWave Foods reported that Net Sales grew 5 percent and Constant Currency Net Sales rose 6 percent. Reported Operating Income rose 17 percent and Adjusted Constant Currency Operating Income grew 19 percent.

Furthermore, for Q3 2016, reported Diluted Earnings Per Share rose 15 percent to $0.32; and Adjusted Diluted Earnings per Share increased 11 percent to $0.37. Additionally, Adjusted Constant Currency Diluted Earnings per Share grew 17 percent to $0.39, excluding China JV investments.

Moreover, WhiteWave stockholders approved a Merger Agreement for Danone to acquire all outstanding shares of The WhiteWave Foods Company. Danone S.A. and WhiteWave Foods entered into a definitive merger agreement on July 6, 2016. Danone will acquire WhiteWave for $56.25 per share in an all-cash transaction, representing a total enterprise value of about $12.5 billion. This includes debt and other WhiteWave Foods liabilities.
