Headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey, Bel Fuse, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets a wide variety of products that power, protect, and connect electronic circuits. The Company provides an extensive portfolio of products across three major product groups. These groups comprise Power Solutions and Protection, Connectivity Solutions, and Magnetics Solutions. Established in 1949, Bel Fuse operates facilities worldwide. The Company went public in 1967. Bel Fuse and its divisions chiefly engage in the design, manufacture, and sale of products used in networking, telecommunications, high-speed data transmission, commercial aerospace, military, transportation, and consumer electronics. The Company’s products include magnetics (discrete components, power transformers and MagJack® connectors with integrated magnetics), and modules (DC-DC converters and AC-DC power supplies, integrated analog front‑end modules and custom designs).
Products additionally include circuit protection (miniature, micro and surface mount fuses) and interconnect devices (micro, circular and filtered D‑Sub connectors, fibre optic connectors, passive jacks, plugs and high‑speed cable assemblies).
The Magnetic Solutions product group includes integrated connector modules, power transformers, power inductors and discrete components. Bel Magnetics products include one of the widest ranges of magnetic-based solutions for high-speed networking and computer applications – the S558-10GB-XX series of 10GBASE-T LAN magnetics modules. The Company offers these to address the transmission standards of 10GbE data over copper LANs.
The Power Solutions and Protection product group includes front-end, board-mount and industrial power products, module products and circuit protection. The Connectivity Solutions product group includes expanded beam fiber optic, copper-based, RF and RJ connectors and cable assemblies.
Recently, Bel Fuse announced that it executed an agreement with Arrow Electronics, providing for global distribution and support for all present and future Bel Fuse subsidiaries in many product areas. This new global agreement expands the range of Bel Fuse’s product offering to Arrow.
Moreover, it replaces the North America agreements beforehand in place with many of Bel’s subsidiaries. Accordingly, this allows Bel more access to Arrow’s expansive reach into worldwide markets. Bel has over 50 years of experience working alongside Arrow Electronics to provide unique solutions and services to the market.
In North America, Bel Fuse has 10 manufacturing sites, 7 sales offices, and 7 design centers. In Europe, the Company has 4 manufacturing sites, 5 sales offices, and 5 design centers. In Asia, Bel Fuse has 5 manufacturing sites, 3 sales offices, and 5 design centers.
For the last twelve months (LTM) reported – through September 30, 2016, Bel Fuse had sales of $517M. For this period, Power Solutions & Protection contributed 35 percent of Total Revenue ($183M). Connectivity Solutions contributed 34 percent of Total Revenue for this period, while Magnetic Solutions contributed 31 percent of Total Revenue for this period.
Bel’s end markets consist of Network & Storage (comprising 40 percent); Military & Aerospace (comprising 25 percent); Industrial (comprising 20 percent); and Telecommunications (comprising 15 percent).
The Company’s client base includes Oracle, Cisco, Facebook, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon. In addition, its customer base includes Rockwell Collins, Alstom, Bombardier, Carrier, Philips, AdTran, Ciena, Ericsson, and Nokia.
